The cool, moist breeze rippled through the dusky stallion's mane as he sprang to the top of the ridge. Nostrils flaring, he scented the promise of rain in the roiling dark clouds that filled the eastern sky. In another time, such clouds might have seemed ominous. But the drought had persisted so long, and the herd desperately needed this storm...

Stormdancer is #2 in my Scions of Legend™ series. He is sculpted completely by hand over a strong armature of brass rods. His coat is a beautiful blue-black roan, created by stippling many layers of white, gray, and blue-black. A splash of white covers his muzzle and left eye, and a white "sock" reaches above the knee of his right foreleg. His mane, tail and beard are made from two shades of gray viscose. Stormdancer's spiral horn and cloven hooves are nearly black, with a slightly iridescent blue-black sheen. His eyes are black glass. He stands about 8" (20.3 cm) tall from horn tip to cloven toe, and about 5 1/2" (14 cm) long from muzzle to hindquarters.

Polymer clay, acrylic paint, and viscose hair.

Unicorn commissions are $325 and up; please email me for details.
