The Black Rabbit handmade leather mask brings simple elegance to your bunny costume, for Halloween, Mardi Gras, or a masquerade party. The mask is painted black, with dark red along the rim of the nose and eyes, as well as the tear ducts. All the steps in the creation of this leather mask, from the design concept to the sculpting to the finishing touches, were done by one artist with an appreciation for craftsmanship and quality.
Cute little fuzzy bunnies, The Black Rabbit of Inle (from the novel Watership Down), the creepy rabbit fursuit from the film Donnie Darko -- believe it or not, all of these simultaneously served as inspiration for my rabbit mask. In the future I shall probably make a scarier version of the rabbit mask, but for now, the Black Rabbit with the red-rimmed eyes lets you use your imagination to choose the direction of your costume and play it up with makeup and accessories if you choose.
You have two size options: Big Bunny and Mini Bun. Big Bunny's nose goes past the nose of the wearer by about an inch (2.5cm) or so, and the ears are about 6 inches (15.25cm) long. Mini Bun's nose goes just past the wearer's, and the ears are about 4.5 inches (11.4cm) long. If you want to be able to eat and drink while wearing your mask, Mini Bun is the way to go.
This leather mask is lightweight for its size, and slightly flexible for your comfort. Both mask sizes are suitable for either men or women, and are tied with black organdy ribbons (Big Bunny has 2 pairs for extra stability).
The second photo was graciously shared by my wonderful customer Ivy, stunningly modeling the black Mini Bun!
